Sclerotherapy usually involves a series of treatments whereby the visible veins are injected with a sclerosing solution, which causes the vein wall to stick together and ultimately fade as it is reabsorbed.
Laser therapy is non-invasive and involves the delivery of light energy, at a precise dosage, to each vein. The blood vessel absorbs the light energy, becomes heated causing coagulation and is subsequently absorbed by the body. Multiple treatments may be required depending on the area and severity of the problem.
