Injectable Filler

The youthful appearance of healthy skin is due to the abundant presence of hyaluronic acid (HA). Ageing decreases the natural levels of this substance resulting in lines, furrows, wrinkles and volume loss in the face. In the past surgery was the only option. Fillers containing Hyaluronic Gel,  are now frequently used to improve lip definition and shape, correct wrinkles, restore volume and shape facial features.

Because filler is based on a client's unique facial features and desired outcomes, we can only provide pricing after a one on one complementary consultation.  Therefore, Filler cannot be purchased online.

Fillers are often used in combination with other neuromodulators, such as Botox®, Nuiceva and Xeomin,  to achieve a better overall effect. Aesthetic outcome of these procedures is dependent on technique and skill of the injector and the patient’s unique facial structure. The first step is to book a free cosmetic consultation to discuss your options, expected results and possible complications.

How often would I require filler treatments?

Treatment effects typically last 6 – 12 months depending on the area, injection technique, skin condition, lifestyle, and age.  Over time, repeat treatments can favourably lengthen the interval between appointments and, in some individuals, the amount of product required to achieve the same results.

When will I see results?

Treatment takes 30 – 60 minutes and results are immediate.

Is the procedure painful?

Dr. Copeland always applies a local anesthetic to numb the area prior to the procedure. This should help dull the sensation of being pricked during the injection.  All filler used at MD Aesthetics has lidocaine (a local anesthetic) built right in to further enhance patient comfort.  If you have an allergy to lidocaine, please call us before your treatment so that we may order Filler without Lidocaine for you.

Are there side effects?

Directly after the treatment, it’s normal to experience some minor and temporary effects such as stinging, bruising, mild to moderate redness, and swelling. Although rare, allergic reaction can occur at the injection site.  It is therefore important to have the procedure performed in a medical facility.    Serious complications have been reported but are exceedingly rare.  These risks will be discussed with you, by Dr. Copeland, during your visit and prior to treatment.

Is there any downtime?

Most people  return to work or go about their normal daily activities immediately after treatment. We recommend  avoiding strenuous activity for the remainder of the day. Concealer makeup can be used if you experience bruising.

Who are the best candidates?

Good candidates for this procedure include those with deep facial lines, hollowed facial features due to fat loss, and those who wish to restore the size and/or shape of their lips.

About Dr. Copeland and his injection technique

For the past 12 years, Dr. Copeland has been participating in the MD CODES master program with Dr. de Maio and has mastered the art of injecting using MD Code principles.  Dr. de Maio is one of the world’s leading plastic surgeons and an expert in the advanced use of dermal fillers and botulinum toxin type-A.

The MD Codes ™ originated from the 8-point lift, which was a technique firstly introduced by Dr. de Maio in 2010. It was the first time that filler treatments were developed to strategically combine different injection sites to achieve direct and indirect effects by giving volume and structure to the face. The objective was to achieve a non-surgical facelift without scars and downtime.

The MD Codes™ are a series of precise sites that were created to guide injections on the face. They consist of a variable number of injection sites divided into anatomical areas.  The MD Codes™ for the face are divided into 13 areas.

When considering cosmetic injections, ask yourself what is it that you would like to achieve?  Here are the typical attributes we like to base our consultations on. So if you are coming in for a general consultation or considering cosmetic injections, consider these emotional attributes and how you would prioritize those most important to you.

A consultation must be the first step in understanding if this service is right for you.
