Hyaluronic filler is the ideal solution to help reshape, lift, and return volume. Filler should rarely be considered in just one area of the face, because treatment in one area can affect another.

Except for lips, Dr. Copeland rarely injects a single syringe. Restoring facial volume is a dance of skill, art, experience, with an intense understanding of facial anatomy. That is why filler is sold in grades of volume lost and not by the syringe.  Please note, multiple options are available by area and dependent on how much volume is lost (Moderate to Severe).

When considering replacing volume lost, we look at the entire face by Area: The Upper and Mid Face Area includes the Temples, Cheeks & Tear Troughs. The lower face includes the Jawline and Chin and lips.

The chart below provides an example only of some standards for an initial treatment. A consultation is required to best understand your level of volume loss and objectives.

Because filler is based on a client's unique facial features and desired outcomes, we can only provide pricing after a one-on-one complementary consultation.

How often would I require filler treatments?

Treatment effects typically last 6 – 12 months depending on the area, injection technique, skin condition, lifestyle, and age.  Over time, repeat treatments can favourably lengthen the interval between appointments and, in some individuals, the amount of product required to achieve the same results.

When will I see results?

Treatment takes 30 – 60 minutes and results are immediate.

Is the procedure painful?

Dr. Copeland always applies a local anesthetic to numb the area prior to the procedure. This should help dull the sensation of being pricked during the injection.  All filler used at MD Aesthetics has lidocaine (a local anesthetic) built right in to further enhance patient comfort.  If you have an allergy to lidocaine, please call us before your treatment so that we may order Filler without Lidocaine for you.

Are there side effects?

Directly after the treatment, it’s normal to experience some minor and temporary effects such as stinging, bruising, mild to moderate redness, and swelling. Although rare, allergic reaction can occur at the injection site.  It is therefore important to have the procedure performed in a medical facility.    Serious complications have been reported but are exceedingly rare.  These risks will be discussed with you, by Dr. Copeland, during your visit and prior to treatment.

Is there any downtime?

Most people  return to work or go about their normal daily activities immediately after treatment. We recommend  avoiding strenuous activity for the remainder of the day. Concealer makeup can be used if you experience bruising.

Who are the best candidates?

Good candidates for this procedure include those with deep facial lines, hollowed facial features due to fat loss, and those who wish to restore the size and/or shape of their lips.
