DEOXYCHOLATE/BELKYRA INSTRUCTIONS
PRE-TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS
- Expect to be at clinic for 30 minutes
- 7 days prior to treatment, reduce blood thinners such as ASA, red wine and green tea.
- Please ensure you have your current list of medication and allergies as a brief medical history will be reviewed.
- Do not wear any tight clothes to your appointment.
POST-TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS
- You may experience some burning or itching feelings the day of your Antihistamines like Benadryl can be taken if needed for itching.
- Avoid ice and do not take any non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as aspirin (SASA) or ibuprofens (Motrin, Advil) for 2 days following injections to help minimize bruising.
- Redness and swelling may occur and will resolve itself in 72 hours. Bruising and Nodule formation can occur and can last for 15 to 30 days.
- If discomfort is experienced after the treatment, Tylenol Extra Strength can be used.
- Drink lots of water.
- Results might not be seen for several treatments.
