Collagen Regeneration
How can Dr. Copeland help build new collagen?
Building collagen in aging skin can be done by injecting filler in a hyper diluted form using a specific filler known as Radiesse into the skin. Radiesse is a unique filler as it has CaHA (calcium hydroxyapatite).
When injecting diluted Radiesse Filler superficially under aging skin in a scaffold-like pattern, these injected lines provide a stronger structural support system for the skin. More importantly, this diluted filler acts as a biostimulator. This means that the filler stimulates the body’s own biomolecular mechanisms to create and lay down new collagen, elastin and create new capillaries for the purpose of rejuvenating skin and underlying tissue.
It stimulates long term skin tightening and progressive natural dermal thickening. The tone, elasticity and pliability of skin is markedly improved resulting in a reduction of fine lines, crepiness, and skin laxity.
The skin rejuvenating effects from this treatment are pronounced and visible, with collagen and elastin production starting as early as 4 weeks after injection with best results in 6 months.
The mineral (non-animal based) content of Radiesse, suspended in a gel, is both biocompatible and biodegradable, and does not require an allergy test.
Can Collagen Builder treat Cellulite?
By injecting hyper diluted filler containing calcium hydroxyapatite, into areas with moderate to severe cellulite, the skin is plumped out, reducing the appearance of dimpling.
When will I see results?
Studies have shown that there is a slight immediate result due to an immediate triggering of an inflammatory cascade, but the production of new collagen is most apparent at 3 months if a second treatment is utilized just prior to this. A lasting aesthetic improvement has been show up to 18 months in studies which demonstrate tighter elastic skin and increased thickness. There are obviously multiple variables in any biomolecular cascade depending on the technique used but also and more importantly the individual’s tissue response. The individual response will vary depending on age, health status and genetics. Therefore, as with any medical procedure, results will vary.
How many treatments are required?
Two treatments are required preferably 6 weeks apart. Please NOTE that prices include both your treatments. Rarely, a person may need a third treatment.
Why is a consultation important
We will provide you with time to review this treatment option and to answer all your questions. Documentation and side effects will be discussed more fully at the initial consultation. Generally, the use of this product is very similar to all aesthetic fillers, the main difference is that it is not a hyaluronate (HA) gel and therefore cannot be dissolved with an enzyme if needed. It is dispersed slowly through ones own natural metabolic processes.
