CLEAR SILK

Refresh, revitalize and reduce redness.

The all-season laser that delivers results safely for all skin types.

ClearSilk® is a gentle, non-ablative 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser treatment that targets vascular and pigment-related changes, textural irregularities, and early signs of aging. It uses micro-pulses of laser energy to deliver controlled heat into the dermis (the deeper layer of the skin) without removing or vaporizing the surface.

This heat is absorbed by chromophores in the skin (primarily hemoglobin and melanin), which:

  • Helps reduce diffuse redness and flushing
  • Supports improvement in rosacea-related changes
  • Stimulates fibroblasts to produce new collagen and elastin, improving texture, fine lines, and overall tone

Because the epidermis is left intact and heating is uniform rather than ablative, recovery is typically limited to mild, transient redness and warmth. This allows ClearSilk to be used safely across all skin types and in all seasons, including on tanned skin when appropriate parameters and sun protection are used.

At MD Aesthetics, ClearSilk is positioned as a foundational laser for skin maintenance—ideal for patients with redness or early photoaging who want visible, cumulative improvement without traditional laser downtime.

1) What concerns does ClearSilk® treat?

ClearSilk® is designed to address vascular and inflammatory skin concerns while gently improving overall skin quality, including:

  • Diffuse redness and flushing
  • Rosacea-related facial redness
  • Fine lines and mild wrinkles
  • Enlarged pores and uneven texture
  • Dull or tired-looking skin
  • Mild pigment irregularities and acne-related changes in appropriate candidates

It is not a substitute for deep resurfacing or surgery, but an excellent option for gradual, natural improvement with minimal disruption.

Am I a good candidate for ClearSilk®?

You may be a good candidate if you:

  • Experience facial redness, flushing, or rosacea-prone skin
  • Notice uneven texture, enlarged pores, or early fine lines
  • Prefer a non-ablative laser with little to no downtime
  • Are in generally good health and not pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Can avoid intentional tanning and follow post-treatment care

Patients with advanced sun damage, significant laxity, or deeper wrinkles may benefit from combining ClearSilk® with other modalities after a proper assessment.

How should I prepare for a ClearSilk® treatment?

Typical preparation includes:

  • Avoiding sun exposure, tanning beds, and self-tanners on the treatment area for 2–4 weeks when possible
  • Using daily broad-spectrum SPF on exposed areas
  • Pausing potentially irritating topicals (retinoids, strong acids) for several days before treatment, as directed
  • Avoiding unnecessary blood-thinning medications or supplements only if medically safe and approved by your prescribing physician
  • Arriving with clean, product-free skin on the treatment area

A full medical and medication review is completed before treatment.

What happens during a ClearSilk® treatment?
  • Assessment: Your provider evaluates skin tone, redness, and suitability
  • Cleansing & eye protection: The skin is cleansed and protective eyewear applied
  • Laser delivery: The handpiece glides over the skin, delivering uniform micro-pulses of 1064 nm laser energy with built-in temperature and distance feedback
  • Post-care: Cooling and soothing products are applied, followed by sunscreen

Most full-face treatments take under 30 minutes, making ClearSilk® a practical “lunchtime” option.

Does ClearSilk® hurt?

ClearSilk® is generally very well tolerated. Most patients describe:

  • Gentle warmth or mild heat
  • Occasional light prickling in sensitive areas

Because it is non-ablative and uses controlled heating, topical numbing is usually not required.

What is the downtime after ClearSilk®?

ClearSilk® is considered a no-downtime or social-downtime treatment:

  • Immediately after: mild redness and warmth; occasional slight swelling
  • Within 24 hours: redness typically settles; makeup is usually fine the next day
  • Following days: skin appears progressively calmer and more even

Most patients return to normal activities immediately, avoiding intense heat, heavy sweating, or irritating products briefly.

When will I see results, and how many treatments are needed?

Some patients notice a subtle glow and reduced redness within days, but ClearSilk® is designed as a series-based, cumulative treatment.

Typical protocols include:

  • 4–6 sessions, spaced 3–4 weeks apart, for optimal improvement
  • Maintenance treatments a few times per year, especially for chronic redness or rosacea-prone skin

Because ClearSilk® supports collagen remodeling and vascular balance, improvements often continue to evolve over several months.

Is ClearSilk® safe?

ClearSilk® uses a 1064 nm Nd:YAG wavelength with non-ablative, uniform heating—an established approach for treating vascular and textural concerns across a wide range of skin types.

When performed by trained medical professionals, it has a strong safety profile. Possible side effects include:

  • Temporary redness, swelling, or dryness
  • Rare bruising or pigment changes, particularly in darker or recently tanned skin
  • Very rare blistering or scarring if settings or aftercare are not followed

At Copeland MD Aesthetics, ClearSilk® is delivered within a medical setting with appropriate patient selection, device-specific protocols, and clear aftercare guidance.

Positioning note (internal consistency)

ClearSilk® works particularly well for:

  • Rosacea-prone or redness-dominant skin
  • Patients wanting visible improvement without downtime
  • Maintenance between BBL® HEROic™, MOXI®, or HALO® treatment
