Hyaluronidase breaks down hyaluronic acid, the gel in most modern lip and facial fillers. We use it to soften or remove unwanted filler (e.g., migrated lip filler, nodules after nasolabial injections, overfilled tear troughs), or emergently when blood flow is threatened (sudden severe pain, blanching, or dusky color after filler elsewhere). Results often begin immediately and consolidate over 24–72 hours; some cases benefit from a staged approach to avoid over-correction. Hyaluronidase can also transiently affect your native HA in the skin, but your body rebuilds this over days to weeks. Once the area settles, we can plan fresh, subtle re-filling—or leave it natural—based on your goals.
