SPIDER VEINS

Non-surgical treatment with no incisions or injections and minimal downtime.

Spider veins and small visible blood vessels develop when superficial veins dilate or weaken. They commonly appear on the legs, face, chest, and other areas, and may be influenced by genetics, hormonal changes, pregnancy, prolonged standing, sun exposure, or natural aging of the skin.

While often medically benign, visible veins can affect confidence and how comfortable you feel in your body. Importantly, not all vascular patterns are the same — and not all are appropriate for the same treatment. At COPELAND MD, we approach vascular concerns with a medical lens first, ensuring careful diagnosis, realistic expectations, and appropriate technology selection.

Our focus is not aggressive eradication, but safe reduction and cosmetic improvement, using evidence-based devices and conservative planning to protect surrounding skin.

A Thoughtful, Medical Approach

At COPELAND MD, vascular treatments are guided by physician oversight, careful selection, and patient safety. If laser treatment is not the right option, we will tell you — and guide you toward the most appropriate next step.

Book a consultation to determine whether laser treatment is suitable for your vascular concerns and to receive a clear, individualized plan.

Not sure where to begin?

Every treatment begins with the right conversation. We’ll help you choose the most appropriate next step based on your goals, timeline, and comfort level.

AM I A CANDIDATE

You may be a good candidate for treatment if you:

  • Have small, superficial spider veins or broken capillaries
  • Are bothered by visible redness or fine vascular patterns on the face or body
  • Are in good overall health, not pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Do not have active skin infections, open wounds, or untreated vascular disease
  • Understand that improvement is gradual and may require multiple sessions

During your consultation, we assess vein size, depth, location, skin tone, and medical history to determine whether laser treatment is appropriate — or if referral to another provider (e.g., for larger varicose veins) is the safer option.

POSSIBILITIES

Treatment may help to:

  • Reduce the appearance of facial spider veins and broken capillaries
  • Improve diffuse redness related to superficial vascular changes
  • Lighten the look of small leg spider veins in selected cases
  • Create a clearer, more even skin tone
  • Improve confidence in exposed areas (face, legs, décolletage)

Results vary based on vein type and individual response, and complete clearance is not always achievable — honest expectations are part of good care.

TREATMENT OPTIONS

ClearV® Laser (Sciton)

ClearV® is a 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser designed specifically for vascular concerns. It delivers targeted energy to heat and collapse selected blood vessels while minimizing impact on surrounding tissue.

Why ClearV®:

  • Designed for vascular lesions on the face and body
  • Suitable for a broad range of skin tones when used conservatively
  • No incisions or injections
  • Minimal downtime for most patients

What to expect:

  • Treatments are typically quick, with a sensation of warmth or snapping
  • Mild redness or swelling may occur temporarily
  • Multiple sessions may be required for optimal improvement
  • Veins gradually fade as the body reabsorbs them over weeks

ClearV® is used only for appropriate vascular patterns and is not intended for large or deep varicose veins.
