LASER HAIR REMOVAL

Tailored laser treatments for every skin tone.

Our customized laser hair removal treatments use Sciton Bare It, LightSheer Diode, and Forever Bare BBL to safely target unwanted hair for all skin types. By selecting the right laser and treatment interval for your skin and hair, we deliver long-lasting smoothness with minimal discomfort.

Laser hair removal is one of the most effective long-term solutions for reducing unwanted hair — but achieving the best outcome depends on selecting the right technology for your unique skin tone, hair type, and treatment area. At our clinic, we don’t believe in a one-laser-fits-all approach. We use three advanced systems — Sciton Bare It (Nd:YAG), LightSheer Diode, and Sciton Forever Bare BBL — each chosen for its precision, comfort, and compatibility across the full range of skin and hair types.

The science behind laser hair removal lies in selective photothermolysis: the laser’s wavelength targets melanin (the pigment) in the hair follicle, delivering controlled energy that disables the follicle’s ability to regrow. The trick is balancing enough power to damage the follicle while protecting the surrounding skin — which is why choosing the correct laser and settings is crucial.

Different skin and hair combinations respond better to different wavelengths:

  • Sciton Bare It (Nd:YAG) is ideal for deeper skin tones because its longer wavelength safely bypasses surface pigment while effectively reaching the follicle root.
  • LightSheer Diode is considered the gold standard for lighter to medium skin tones and coarse hair, offering fast, efficient coverage with built-in cooling for comfort.
  • Sciton Forever Bare BBL uses broad-band light energy in rapid pulses, allowing even, gentle heating for fine hair and sensitive skin areas.

Hair grows in cycles, and only follicles in the active growth (anagen) phase can be successfully treated. Because not all hairs are in the same phase at once, a series of sessions — typically spaced 4 to 8 weeks apart, depending on the body area — is essential for optimal results. Areas like the face, which have faster cycles, may need shorter intervals, while legs or back require longer spacing.

With the right laser, correct timing, and a personalized plan, laser hair removal can provide lasting smoothness, reduced ingrown hairs, and softer, finer regrowth over time. Every treatment is adjusted to your skin’s unique characteristics to ensure both safety and exceptional results.

How do I prepare for treatment?
  • Shave the area 12–24 hours before your visit. (No waxing, plucking, threading, or depilatory creams for 3–4 weeks prior.)
  • Avoid sun and self‑tanner on the area for 2 weeks before treatment. Use SPF 30+ daily.
  • Arrive with clean, product‑free skin—no lotions, deodorant, makeup, or oils on the treated area.
  • Pause exfoliants/actives (retinoids, AHAs/BHAs, benzoyl peroxide) on the area for 3–5 days
    before and after.
  • Medications & health: Tell us about antibiotics, isotretinoin history, photosensitizing meds, tattoos in the area, or if you’re pregnant/breastfeeding so we can advise.
Does Laser Hair Removal hurt?

Most people describe quick snaps of warmth—like a rubber band—followed by cooling. Sensation varies by area and hair density. Our systems have integrated cooling and we can apply a topical numbing for sensitive spots if appropriate.

How long should I go in between Laser Hair Removal appointments?
  • Face: typically every 4–6 weeks
  • Body: typically every 6–8 weeks Hair grows in cycles; staying on schedule targets new follicles as they enter the growth phase.
What can I expect after my treatment?
  • Normal & temporary: mild redness and “follicular bumps” for a few hours up to 24–48 hours.
  • Care: cool compresses as needed, gentle cleanser/moisturizer, SPF 30+ daily.
  • Avoid for 24–48 hours: hot tubs/saunas, intense workouts, tight friction, and active skincare on the area.
  • Shedding: treated hairs loosen and “pepper‑spot” out over 1–2 weeks—this is not new growth.
  • Do not wax, pluck, or thread between sessions; shaving is okay.
How many treatments do I need?

Most clients need 6–10 sessions for a significant reduction. Coarse, dark hair often responds faster; fine or light hair may need more. Areas influenced by hormones (face, chest, bikini) can require maintenance sessions.

Is Laser Hair Removal permanent?

Expect long‑term hair reduction, not total permanence. Many follicles are disabled; some may produce finer, lighter regrowth over time. Hormonal changes and genetics can influence outcomes, and occasional touch‑ups help maintain results.

I have dark skin, can I get Laser Hair Removal?

Yes—safely. We use Nd:YAG technology, the gold standard for deeper skin tones, which targets hair while sparing surrounding skin. You’ll still need to avoid active tans, and we may start with a test spot and conservative settings for safety.

Does the type of laser matter?

Absolutely. Matching the device to skin tone, hair color, and body
area
improves results and comfort:

  • Sciton Bare It (Nd:YAG 1064 nm): excellent for darker skin tones and tanned skin; deeper penetration with lower melanin absorption in skin.
  • LightSheer Diode (≈805–810 nm): fast and effective for many skin types; great for large areas.
  • Sciton Forever Bare BBL (broadband light): comfortable, even energy delivery; helpful for finer hair on lighter skin.

Note: Lasers/BBL target pigment in hair. White, gray, very blonde, or red hairs have little melanin and may not respond.
